Logistics Apprenticeship Training Academy (LATA) wins Outstanding Employer Engagement Award at the 2011 TES FE Awards

Logistics Apprenticeship Training Academy (LATA) has won the Outstanding Employer Engagement Award at the inaugural TES FE Awards, announced at the Brewery in London on 11 November 2011. LATA was one of six shortlisted for the award.

The TES FE Awards recognise and reward the achievements of the wide range of providers working in learning and skills. Hundreds of colleges from across the UK submitted entries for the 13 categories to recognise achievement by individuals, teams or providers in fields including e-learning, employer engagement, innovation in teaching, entrepreneurship, leadership and lifetime achievement.

Judges' verdict: "This initiative shows the potential to engage with employers on a large scale; there was evidence of a careful strategy. It is always difficult to engage with small and medium sized enterprises, but LATA did this exceptionally successfully, and anyone who can get employers to contribute to the cost has done really well."

Hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the sector's achievements at the awards ceremony, held at the Brewery, London. To view the full list of winners, photos and video, visit www.tes.co.uk/feawards or pick up a copy of TES, available in newsagents from 18 November 2011.
