Blackburns Metals Ltd

Blackburns Metals are currently supporting three LATA Apprentices and have identified many benefits of working with LATA. The following was from the success of a LATA Apprentice called Mark. Mark completed his apprenticeship and impressed Blackburns Metals resulting in a secured permanent role within the organisation. Lee Wooton, Manager of Blackburns Metals says;

"Working closely with LATA has enabled me to take on local enthusiastic apprentices where all the ground work has already been completed, they have come with good understanding of warehousing terminology, an excellent understanding of health and safety and most importantly for us they are work ready. This enables me to spend more time developing the specific skills we require for our environment"

AF Blakemore & Son Ltd

AF Blakemore & Son have worked closely with LATA to develop a steady stream of apprentices who could potentially move into permanent positions. They currently have apprentices working across four sites. Rob Clement, HR Manager at AF Blakemore & Son, says;

"Support from LATA has been good, particularly at the start in terms of providing us with a group of apprentices to select from. There has been constant contract between LATA and ourselves forming an excellent working relationship. Nothing has happened with the Apprentices that wasn't agreed and set out in the plans at the very beginning of the program"
