FLT

What is it?

LATA offer instruction and testing on the full range of industrial lift trucks at customer's premises or at our own three bay warehouse facility. LATA are RTITB accredited and deliver to their guidelines for course duration and content and incorporates National Operator Registration Scheme (NORS).
LATA are happy to deliver on site training to on site shift patterns and welcome the opportunity to discuss the best way to structure a training programme to meet your needs.
Training courses include theoretical and practical training and tests. Upon completion of courses, trainees will be able to carry out routine inspections of the truck and understand the causes of load and truck instability.
A certificate of Basic Training for each operator will be issued upon successful completion of both Theoretical Knowledge and Practical examination.

Course Background
5 day full operations novice course For people who have little or no experience. Cosely supervised practice and developing basic skills necessary for safe truck operation.
3 day basic operators course An ideal course for those who may have had some experience but received no formal training.
2 day conversion course For operators experience in Reach FLT but require formal training to operate a Counterbalance FLT or vice versa.
1 day retest course
1 day practical test of basic operating skills
For experience operators who have received formal training and hold a certificate but require a refresher in line with obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

On Customer's Premises

To deliver on customer's premises we would require an office/area large enough to seat the trainee and instructor with access to video/powerpoint facilities. The practical training area would need to be approximately four truck lengths square and would require assorted loads and a section of racking or stillages to practice stacking exercises.
Maximum ratio of 3 trainees; 1 instructor; 1 truck.
